Javier Silva-Wiscovich

Javier Silva-Wiscovich graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Law School in 1994. During his law program, Mr. Silva-Wiscovich worked as Law Clerk for several San Juan based law firms, including Sweeting, Gonzalez, Cestero & Bruno; McConnell Valdes and Melendez Perez, Moran & Santiago, where he gathered special knowledge in diverse areas such as labor law, litigation, corporate law, administrative law, commercial and banking law, among others.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Silva-Wiscovich initially specialized in collection of monies, torts, commercial litigation, real estate law and administrative law. Mr. Silva-Wiscovich served clients in these areas at several banking institutions such as FirstBank Puerto Rico and BBVA.

In 1998 Mr. Silva-Wiscovich was recruited as General Counsel and Human Resources Director for Bella International Corp., a local distributorship company classified amongst the Top 20 in total revenues in Puerto Rico. Mr. Silva-Wiscovich was in charge of all corporate legal business, including distribution contract draft and negotiations, dealer contract draft and negotiations, general contract litigation, HR matters for over 300 employees, real estate transactions and closings, product liability claims and litigation, collection of monies, Consumer Affairs Department claims, legislative appearances, torts, insurance claims, customer satisfaction liaison and any other task delegated by the Board of Directors.

In 2003, Mr. Silva-Wiscovich opened his private practice and has since been engaged in civil and insurance litigation, corporate counseling, labor law, commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiations, government affairs and administrative work.

Mr. Silva-Wiscovich is admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico and the United States District Court in Puerto Rico. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Notary Public Association of Puerto Rico, the Society of Human Resource Professionals and the St Jude Children’s Hospital – Puerto Rico board.
